5 August, 2014 - 28 September, 2014
Upper Lobby
Glenn Jowitt, Sataua, Savai'i, Western Samoa (1981), Ektacolour print. Collection of the Wallace Arts Trust.
As a further tribute, a selection of photographs from Glenn Jowitt’s Pacific Images exhibition will remain on show in the upper lobby of the Pah Homestead.
With great sadness the Arts Trust acknowledges the death of master photographer Glenn Jowitt on 23 July 2014. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. We also acknowledge the mighty contribution he made to many communities and cultures especially Pasifika with whom he shared so much of his life and work.
Glenn’s generosity of spirit and the loving way in which he shared his unique vision of New Zealand, the islands of the Pacific and their peoples, will live forever in his wonderful images.
The Trust is grateful to have acquired key photographs from Glenn over the years. Further the Trust was able to add an extremely significant body of his work to the Collection in the months before this premature and very sad loss.
