Rachel Jenkins will be performing an accumulation of original instrumental piano compositions written throughout her 20’s. Her pieces are story-like, interwoven together to create a continuous flow of sound and silence forming an expansive two part work.
Every piece is composed from deep introspection, offering a sonic reflection of her inner world. Her music explores the emotional terrain of loss, longing, hope, peace and tension, inviting listeners into an intimate journey through the complexities of human experience.
Her live performances are immersive, an environment for presence and deep listening.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Rachel is based in Tauranga Moana, settled between vast waters of Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa and the constant calming Kaimai silhouette. Her compositions draw from and respond to the elements of the land and the mirrored flow of human consciousness.
