This installation of Wā Dividends is a fragment that carries echoes of its larger body — Wā We Can’t Afford — originally commissioned by Hastings City Art Gallery .
Eva During retraces the path of Aotearoa New Zealand’s first Chinese immigrants by following the Clutha River to the historic goldmining settlements of Lawrence and Arrowtown, sites that bear witness to their endeavours dating back 160 years.
This exhibition features 61 finalists in the Ceramics New Zealand Annual competition, judged this year byMoyra Elliott, Grace Lai and Peata Larkin.

Before written laws, we lived by rituals, superstitions, and stories, guiding forces that shaped how we connected, survived, and made sense of the world. Ritual Baby explores the relationships and identities forged through these practices and the sense of belonging found in the spaces between them.
Kregar’s works interact with the heritage architecture, reimagining the domestic past of the site. His large-scale, geometric light sculptures hang from the ornate ceiling cornices of the grand rooms, replacing the original crystal chandeliers and transforming the spaces with new energy.
To celebrate the Auckland Heritage Festival and mark the 75th anniversary of the 1950 Empire Games, Auckland at Play presents a special selection of works from our broad collection.

The hopeful whakatauki “E kore au e ngaro, he kākano i ruia mai i Rangiātea / I will never be lost, for I am the seed which was sown from Rangiātea” guides Māori back to ancient whakapapa. Kahikatea, tōtara, and kanuka stand as rakau tīpuna (ancestral trees), their seeds harvested to support propagation. Photography of ancient trees serves as a witness to their longevity. Amid environmental devastation, collecting seeds from these iconic species becomes vital preservation work. These combined practices of image-making and seed collection aim to actively contribute to forest regeneration and wetland restoration efforts within Te Tairāwhiti.

This exhibition is presented in partnership with Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival 2025.
Toi Koru tracks the trajectory of Sandy Adsett’s painting practice from the late 1960s to today.
The exhibition features artworks from major public collections, including the National Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki, as well as a new series of paintings created especially for the exhibition.

Pushing Parallels is a celebration of re-learning and questioning traditional art practices. Showcasing a diverse group of multidisciplinary artists from Aotearoa, they are encouraged to experiment, pushing the limits of their mediums to create a playground of colour and form. Curated by Abbie La Rooy, Kiki Hall, and Michael Prosee, the exhibition features works from The Arts House Trust collection alongside invited artists who, although formally trained in one discipline, have ventured into new artistic territories.
