Exhibition Openings
Join us to to celebrate the opening of our two newest exhibitions featuring work by Paul Maseyk and Angela Pan.
Paul Maseyk: Jugs in New Zealand Painting
This project brings together two of Maseyk’s longstanding interests—painting and jugs. In response, he has produced over 100 jugs modelled on those depicted in New Zealand paintings, identified through research across public and private collections, magazines, and online sources. Jugs in New Zealand Painting presents a selection of these paintings drawn from the Arts House Trust collection and several collections in Aotearoa.
LITA is an ongoing project that maps and renegotiates notions of femininity and emptiness drawn from popular culture, religious frameworks, cultural mythologies, consumer imaginaries, and virtual reality. Her name operates as a pun derived from the Chinese term 利他 (altruism), where emptiness is historically framed as virtue, sacrifice, and transcendence.
Both exhibitions will run from 26 March – 7 June 2026.
