Music at Midday: Mona Hums

Saturday, August 30
12 - 1PM
FREE Event

Mona hums is excited to return to Music at Midday. The Tāmaki Makaurau-based singer/songwriter will showcase new original songs alongside reimagined acoustic versions of old favourites. She will be joined by the multi-talented Andy T. on lead guitar.

Mona’s songs explore migrancy and family, love and longing — often shaped by her multicultural upbringing in Germany and life in Aotearoa. Her voice and blend of indie folk-pop create a sound that is both timeless and full of warmth.

Mona’s musical journey began in her teenage years with musical theatre, soon followed by her picking up the acoustic guitar. Growing up with the songs of Tracy Chapman, Sinéad O’Connor, Sting, and Johnny Cash, her music reflects a love for moving melodies and storytelling.
