Music at Midday: Handel Consort & Quire directed by Robert Howell,

Saturday, 27 September
12 - 1PM
Free Concert

Excerpts from Handel's oratorio Theodora — a dramatic oratorio in three acts by George Frideric Handel, set to an English libretto (text) by Thomas Morell.

There will be a number of choruses sung by the choir, exquisite solos from Soprano Gina Sanders, Countertenor Samuel Mataele and Baritone Andrew Conley - some of the leading soloists in NZ. There are also several divine duets and all will be accompanied by a small ensemble of excellent professional musicians.

Handel Consort & Quire directed by Robert Howell

Formed in 2003, Handel Consort & Quire directed by Robert Howell, is an ensemble of singers and instrumentalists committed to performing Handel’s lesser-known and less-performed works to the highest musical standard with attention to baroque stylistic detail. Besides presenting concert performances, as well as some staged operas, HC&Q have performed on television, radio and at iconic Auckland venues such as Auckland Museum, Skycity, Auckland Art Gallery and the Pah Homestead.

Music at Midday

Music at Midday returns to Pah Homestead with an hour of free live music from 12 to 1PM each Saturday.

Auckland is rich with a diverse range of creative musical talent and we celebrate this every week.  Sit down in the drawing room to enjoy the live music, or peruse the galleries while you listen to the music drifting through the building.
